During a meeting in Ashgabat, Azat Atayev, Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, and Xu Hai, Huawei's Vice President for Central Asia and the Region, discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation in digital education, training for the digital economy, developing artificial intelligence competencies, and implementing modern educational technologies.
Particular attention was paid to the Huawei ICT Academy ecosystem, which represents a comprehensive training model that combines educational programs, digital platforms, laboratory solutions, and an international certification system, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
During the discussion, preliminary agreements were reached on the following areas:
Considering the possibility of providing pilot vouchers for students to complete training and obtain Huawei's international certifications;
Preparation and approval of a draft memorandum of cooperation, including the possibility of establishing a Huawei ICT Academy in Turkmenistan;
localization of educational content in the field of artificial intelligence for students and teachers;
Joint development of mechanisms to take labor market needs into account when developing educational programs;
Providing Turkmen universities with access to Huawei ICT Academy's teaching and methodological resources and courses.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue systematic work in these areas.
